Citychatcraft
www.routecraft.com
Citychatcraft (lead by DAVstudio Fenna Westerdiep) developped a digital traveling intructor for cars for the local government of Amsterdam . Later they made a biking planner on their own costs. Both digital traveling intructor include detours and roads broken up. An extra dimension is added to the website: a location based multi-user “realtime” chat.

On the website
www.routecraft.com, the map of Amsterdam is the basis.
Visitors communicate with the map through mobile phones or email. Pictures of funny or nice occasions in the city can be sent to the website. Other visitors can watch the contributions online and chat realtime with the city and it's people. You can see them everywhere on the map, little chat windows. You can see who is active and hitch into an event. The site is refreshed realtime and the chats and pictures are send to an archive. The archive provides a beatiful timsketch of the city. People have to log in to be active on the website. If this way of communicating works, and is thoroughly tested, other cities will be contacted, to make them enthousiastic about this functionality. One can think of target groups who are not able to leave their homes but have a wish to look at location based information to be aware of what goes on in their city.
