Holy

Media artist Merel Mirage is the inventor, inspirator, and producer of Holy. Her work is all about realizing communication between different cultures. Our present-day surroundings command uniformity. Holy stimulates individuality and personal communication in a creative and inspiring way. Through Holy people can meet with the city’s social and cultural diversity. With the help of Digitale Pioniers Holy candy machines were developed, on which people can leave a digital message, thus enabling communication in the public space via internet in a fun way.

Final Products

On the candy machines equipped with the Holy Animator everybody can make or watch an animation clip. There are already 7 candy machines available in the Netherlands and even one in Germany. People without Holy around can still make a clip on [[http://www.holy.nl][www.holy.nl]]

The Holy Animator: easy animation and filing software on internet, with which animation clips can be made. All films made by the participating communities are (in as far as the communities disclosed them) accessible to everyone who passes by, on internet as well as on the candy machine itself.

Impact

The Holy network consists now of nine communities: the Dutch Embassy in Berlin, the digital community centre Cybersoek in Zeeburg, the Haganum Gymnasium and the Segbroek College in The Hague, the Central Library in The Hague, the VPRO, the IVKO school in Amsterdam, CINEKID, and the ZO and Imagine IC foundation in Bijlmer.
