Muziekenzorg.nl “Musicandcare.nl”

The Stichting Gezondheidszorg voor Musici (“Health Care Foundation for Musicians”) wants to start an accessible network of specialists for medical care on behalf of musicians. For this purpose it needs a website for musicians that surveys the available specialized care for profession-related injuries and how to prevent them. By providing advice and education the website can meet the needs of musicians. With the help of Digitale Pioniers the Foundation wants to set up this website.

Final products

The network consists of physicians and therapists with expertise in this domain, and consists of a database, the Kennisbank (“Knowledge database”), with searchfields for, among other things, specialism, method of treatment, profession-related injury, and region. All information of this network is accessible by means of an interactive website, www.muziekenzorg.nl which also offers education, information on prevention, professional literature, and research results. With the help of the injury index one can obtain information about the various injuries.

Impact

Muziekenzorg.nl meets the needs of musicians. This is made clear by the number of questions received by the webmaster. Up till now nothing existed in this field in the Netherlands. A growing database with occurring profession-related injuries and their possible treatments, the unique “diagnostic tool” searcher, and the forum bring about an active community which offers new opportunities.
