The editors of Ouders Online offer independent information about child raising and parenthood. For instance through the Vraagbaak (“Encyclopedia”), which enjoys enormous popularity: 180,000 page views per month and many hundreds of new questions per day. This popularity keeps the editors from their actual job (i.e. collecting, analyzing and commenting on social issues relevant to young parents and families). With the help of Digitale Pioniers they wanted to start realizing phase 1 of a plan for a web application that can, by using an archive, automatically answer all visitors’ questions.

The contribution from Digitale Pioniers helped finishing phase 1 successfully: the encoding of all available questions and answers. Now the editors can use a database filled with a variety of experts, which makes answering questions easier. At this moment it’s time for phase 2: the building of the web application for visitors.
