Final products

Simuze is a community that went online on July 1st, 2005. Via the registration and profile system members can get their place within the community. One can upload music and provide it with a Creative Commons license, by which it becomes available for other members of the community. The community consists of a news section with an archive, rss-feeds, comments, and a CMS that takes the various users into account. Community members will constitute a team of editors and will also moderate the music files.

Impact

By means of direct and indirect forms of information exchange the musicians were made aware of copyright and Creative Commons. Because of this Open Media attracted a lot of attention, which even led to a sponsoring by XS4ALL. Next to companies and institutions several individuals also dedicated themselves to Simuze, for instance during the opening party in EKKO in Utrecht. Simuze’s goal is to enable bands to generate a modest reputation via this community. This way bands can attract attention and possibly a new and larger audience.

Dit project is uitgevoerd in de periode september 2004 tot mei 2005.
