Split Screen
www.netuni.nl/splitscreen
TNU, the initiator of Splitscreen is known for the introduction of new ways to discuss. With this project they particularly address youths living in the Netherlands who are involved in the Israelian-Palestine conflict. With the help of Digitale Pioniers TNU wanted to map out the differences of opinion and the used argumentation in an unusual and fascinating manner. Consequently, it wanted to deepen the (online) discussion and look for common grounds to find solutions for this conflict. Thus the participants are being confronted with the solidity of their own ideas.
Impact
In the Netherlands the Israelian-Palestine conflict manifests itself, among other things, as disrespect for each other’s opinions. By discussing the disagreements and manners of argumentation in an unorthodox and interesting way by a split screen, Split Screen hopes to deepen the debate. But it is and will be a difficult one. This project was executed between February 2003 and July 2004.
